Lamon rode the Illinois circuit with Lincoln, became his law partner, guarded him on the journey to Washington and served as marshal of the District during the war. Edited by his daughter, these memories cover Lincoln’s humour, his grief at the death of his son, threats against his life and his premonitions.
Intimate first-hand testimony from one of Lincoln’s closest companions. Download the free EPUB.
