In 1777 young Mr. Ormond rides to the frontier house of his eccentric kinsman Sir Lupus Varick and meets his spirited cousin Dorothy, who delights in plaguing him. Loyalist conspiracies, rough riflemen, divided families and the threat of raids from the wilderness hang over the New York frontier as the colonies fight for independence.
One of Chambers’s Revolutionary War romances, set on the frontier that also gave Cooper his settings. Download the free EPUB.
