In the young colony of Maryland, among the Catholic missions of St. Gabriel’s and St. Inigo’s and the manors along the Potomac, the story centres on Sir Christopher and the lord of the manor. Religious quarrels, rival loyalties in the English Civil War and a captivity under sworn oaths test him, while Peggy brings romance into the story. Illustrated by Howard Pyle and others.
A carefully researched colonial romance for readers interested in early Maryland. Download the free EPUB.
