In 1785 Pittsburgh is the largest town west of the mountains, and Fleming’s Hotel is a haunt of Indian traders. Out of its intrigues comes a plot against the Walton family and their daughter Ellen, leading to an attack on the settlement, captivity and a burning stake. Its picture of Native Americans as savage villains is that of the old frontier melodrama.
A short, fast frontier romance of the kind nineteenth-century readers devoured, best read as a period piece. Download the free EPUB.
