Keziah Coffin keeps house for the new young minister of Trumet, a Cape Cod village whose church committee is ruled by the pompous Elkanah Daniels. She steers the parson through gossip, quarrels and a forbidden courtship with the ward of an old sea captain, while carrying a private trouble of her own that she will not share with anyone.
Warm, funny and shrewd about small-town life, it is among the best of Lincoln’s Cape Cod novels. Download the free EPUB.
