Die Siedler von Hohenmoor (The Settlers of Hohenmoor: A Book of Anger and Confidence) is a German-language novel by Max Dreyer, a playwright and author active in the German naturalist tradition in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Dreyer was a prominent figure in Wilhelmine literary culture, and this novel — whose subtitle announces a tension between anger and hope — appears to engage with themes of rural settlement, social struggle, and collective will.
As a lesser-known work, specific narrative details are difficult to confirm independently. Download this free public-domain EPUB to explore a regional voice in early twentieth-century German social fiction.
