Morien, son of the Grail knight Agloval and a Moorish princess, comes out of the East as a black knight of great strength and courtesy, searching for the father who left his mother before he was born. Gawain and Lancelot ride with him through combats, enchantments and insults to King Arthur’s court in this prose rendering of a little-known Middle Dutch poem.
A fascinating, too-rarely read Arthurian romance, translated by the scholar behind From Ritual to Romance. Download the free EPUB.
