Published after the death of the German violin maker and restorer August Riechers in 1893, this short treatise sets out how to build an instrument on the Stradivarius model. It deals in turn with choosing the wood, the ribs, the back and edges, the belly, the neck and fingerboard, with exact measurements in millimetres.
A compact and practical guide for luthiers, restorers and anyone curious about how fine violins are made. Download the free EPUB.
