Mrs. Aldwinkle, a romantic patroness of the arts, gathers guests at her palace above the little Italian town of Vezza: the cynical Mr. Cardan, the novelist Mary Thriplow, the poet Chelifer, the restless Calamy and her shy niece Irene. Over dinners, love affairs and excursions they talk endlessly about life, art and meaning, while Huxley mocks them all.
A witty novel of ideas from 1925, for readers of Crome Yellow and Antic Hay. Download the free EPUB.
