From the bow window of his house in Berkeley Square, a gentle amateur astrologer known as the Prophet trains his great telescope on the stars that watch over his respectable neighbours. When a rival seer, Malkiel the Second, and a mysterious Madame begin to give him directions, the elderly Mrs. Merillia, a young librarian and Miss Minerva are all caught up in the farce.
