Rupert Ray, Edgar Doe and Archie Pennybet spend five glorious years at an English public school, full of cricket, feuds, cheating scandals and hero-worship of their masters. Then the Great War takes them to the Dardanelles, where Padre Monty watches over them as they face the Gallipoli landings and the test of everything their schooldays taught them.
A hugely popular 1922 novel that captured the idealism of the war generation, later filmed. Download the free EPUB.
