Tommy Sandys first appears at five on a dirty London stair, a poor widow’s son with an inscrutable face and a genius for playacting every feeling he has. When the family returns to the weaving town of Thrums, he and his sister Elspeth find a world of schoolmasters, rivals and village legends that his imagination refuses to leave alone.
Barrie’s sharpest portrait of the artistic temperament, written years before Peter Pan and full of its seeds. Download the free EPUB.
