When news of the war reaches Polpier, a Cornish fishing village whose men belong to the Naval Reserve, Nicholas Nanjivell is too wrapped up in his own troubles to pay attention. The children play at war, the men depart, an anonymous letter circulates and the village gossips, while Nicky-Nan’s private secret turns on hidden treasure.
A humane, humorous home-front novel from Q’s beloved Cornish fiction. Download the free EPUB.
