Horace Dorrington runs a respectable inquiry agency in London, but the papers found in his deed-box reveal a man who uses every case for his own profit. These six stories follow his schemes through a racehorse, a jewel called the Mirror of Portugal, a crooked bicycle company and the bloody death of Mr. Loftus Deacon.
A clever inversion of the Sherlock Holmes formula by the author of Martin Hewitt, Investigator. Download the free EPUB.
