Bunny Manders, scraping by as a hack journalist in 1897, answers an advertisement for an attendant to an invalid named Mr. Maturin, and finds the old firm back in business. Eight stories follow Raffles and Bunny through a Jubilee theft, a revenge from Raffles’s Italian past, old flames, wrong houses and the scrapes of two men living in hiding.
The second Raffles collection, darker and more rueful than the first, from Conan Doyle’s brother-in-law. Download the free EPUB.
