On a dull March afternoon a convict bolts from a quarry gang on Dartmoor, steals a bicycle and some overalls, and finds a doubtful refuge. His freedom comes with a price: an offer he cannot refuse, a stranger’s face, and a part in the struggle against German agents as talk of the Kaiser fills the newspapers.
Brisk pre-war spy adventure in the vein of Buchan, with a wrongly convicted hero and a light touch. Download the free EPUB.
