A circle of old men meets to swap memories of their youth in revolutionary Massachusetts. Their tales take in the night the tea went into Boston harbour, the skirmish at Lexington and the fight at Concord, a fifer’s story, and tricks played on British officers, told in the style of fireside recollection for young readers.
A mid-nineteenth-century patriotic storybook that brings the coming of the Revolution down to human scale. Download the free EPUB.
