An old rag doll sent to Johnny Gruelle by a reader becomes Raggedy Andy, brother to Raggedy Ann, and joins the dolls in Marcella’s nursery. When the people are away the dolls come alive: they hold a nursery dance, try the spinning wheel, have a taffy pull and chase a rabbit, and Andy wriggles down a pipe on a rescue mission.
