Wells gathered for young readers the stories of the Bible as told in older English religious classics, with their quaint wording intact. The book runs from Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Joseph and Moses through Joshua and the kings to the lives of the apostles, including Paul’s last trial before Nero, alongside poems and legends on sacred themes.
A handsome devotional anthology that doubles as an introduction to old English prose. Download the free EPUB.
