Lear’s fourth book of nonsense, published in 1877, gathers some of his finest poems: the Dong wandering the Gromboolian plain with his glowing nose, the Courtship of the Yonghy-Bonghy-Bò, the Pelican Chorus, the Quangle Wangle’s Hat and the Akond of Swat. It closes with Nonsense Botany and Nonsense Alphabets.
Melancholy and absurd by turns, these verses are a delight for children and grown-ups alike. Download the free EPUB.
