Ruth Fielding and her friends sail past the Capes of Virginia on a trip to the land of cotton, meeting a wolf in sheep’s clothing and a mysterious boy in the moonlight. A newspaper report, a downpour and the redoubtable Miss Catalpa all play their part as the girls try to unmask a thief.
A lively girls’ series adventure; its picture of the South and its Black characters carries the attitudes of its day. Download the free EPUB.
