On holiday at Sunrise Farm, Ruth Fielding and her chums meet a wild girl who turns out to be Sadie Raby, one of a family of orphans scattered after their parents’ deaths. Sadie’s story sets Ruth, Tom Cameron and the others on the trail of her scattered brothers and sisters, past the disagreeable Perkinses and into a summer of searching.
