Sir Edward Wentworth considers children an abomination, and the one he has inherited is, worse still, a girl. Little Milly arrives at his country house with a nurse, a head full of Bible stories and a habit of hunting for lost sons, and slowly the gruff baronet finds his household, his habits and his heart rearranged.
A short Victorian evangelical story for children, much read in Sunday-school libraries of its day. Download the free EPUB.
