Eleven-year-old Beth Bristead has been raised strictly and truthfully by her Aunt Rebecca in a small Massachusetts town. A letter takes her by train to New York to spend the winter with her cousin Natalie, and the shy country child discovers city streets, parks and hospitals, ponies to ride, Christmas jingles and a family who seem to her like children out of fairyland.
A warm Christmas-season story for young readers who enjoy fish-out-of-water heroines. Download the free EPUB.
