The Old Year is dying, the winds are skylarking at his funeral, and two children strike a bargain with the twelve months: each will come with a story. So the year passes in tales, among them a bear story, Little Tot, a cat named Maria, May’s garden, little housekeepers, a spark that becomes a forest fire and the last of the fairies.
An early book by the author of What Katy Did, a charming calendar of stories for reading aloud. Download the free EPUB.
