Stuck at school over the holidays in a West Country town, Jerry, Jimmy and Kathleen go exploring and find what looks like an enchanted garden with a princess asleep in its maze. She turns out to be the housekeeper’s niece Mabel, but the ring she shows them really is magic, and its wishes bring invisibility, statues that come alive by moonlight and the terrible Ugly-Wuglies.
