Samuel Salt, once a pirate and now an explorer for Oz, sets sail from King Ato’s eight-sided island with the jolly king and Roger the Read Bird aboard. Their voyage across the Nonestic Ocean turns up a fire baby, a little wild boy named Tandy, a city of bridges and other strange lands, as the captain gathers specimens and claims new realms for Ozma.
