When Tom returns from visiting cousins who have a fine troop in Freeport, the boys of Lenox decide to start their own. With a nature-loving scoutmaster they form the Black Bear Patrol, put up with the jeers of the town bully Dock Phillips, help a family under a cloud, and set out on a long hike across Big Bear Mountain where a mystery waits.
Wholesome early scouting adventure for young readers who like woodcraft and a puzzle. Download the free EPUB.
