On a bleak autumn night in Bridgeboro, irrepressible scout Pee-wee Harris spots a lonely figure and decides a good turn is called for. His efforts lead to a sorry car called the Hunkajunk touring model, a five-reel adventure, robbers in the dark, locked doors and a mystery he is determined to solve with more noise than anyone else in the troop.
