Sam Craig stares into a sporting-goods window until he can no longer resist a catcher’s mitt. Off to a boys’ summer camp called The Wigwam, he finds blankets that run away, tilting matches, rival teams and plenty of baseball, as he works his way into the catcher’s position and helps the Blues to win.
