Tom Gordon lives a mile outside Briggsville, Pennsylvania, with his widowed mother and his sharp-tongued Aunt Cynthia. Bright, truthful and hard-working, he must win his schooling and his place in the world against bad luck, bullies and temptation, a struggle that carries him from the village schoolhouse to a coasting schooner on the Jersey shore.
A character-building boys’ story from the prolific author of the dime-novel Seth Jones, with plenty of incident. Download the free EPUB.
