Clarence Brant is a small boy travelling west in an emigrant train across the endless grey plains. When he and little Susy Peyton wander from the wagons and are lost on the prairie, a series of dangers and rescues leaves him in the care of strangers, and the story follows him on to California and the uncertain world of the new state.
A tender frontier tale with Harte’s sharp eye for the people of the overland trail. Download the free EPUB.
