At a lonely Welsh grange, the elderly brothers Owen, Morgan and Griffith must keep their lively ward Jessie Yelverton from leaving before Griffith’s son returns from abroad. Their plan is to tell her a story each night for ten nights, and the tales include a siege of a cottage by robbers, a family secret and other crimes and puzzles.
