Miss Dawkins, an Englishwoman travelling alone in Egypt, is determined to see the Pyramids and refuses to be left out of anything. She fastens herself on a party of English travellers and the American Mr. Ingram, declaring that women are kept from the great deeds of the age by the envy of men, with comic consequences for everyone’s plans.
A small, sly comedy of tourism and courtship from Trollope’s own travels in the East. Download the free EPUB.
