Raised in rural seclusion by her guardian, the Rev. Mr. Villars, seventeen-year-old Evelina Anville is launched into London’s balls, theatres and pleasure gardens. In letters home she reports blunders of etiquette, the attentions of the courtly Lord Orville and the rakish Sir Clement Willoughby, and the mortifications of her vulgar relations the Branghtons.
A sparkling comedy of manners that paved the way for Jane Austen. Download the free EPUB.
