Isa Bowman, who played Alice on the London stage, was one of Charles Dodgson’s child-friends, and wrote this memoir soon after his death in 1898. She recalls visits to Oxford and Eastbourne, his puzzles and games, his kindness and fussiness, and reproduces many of his playful letters to her.
