Agnes Rush Burr follows Russell Conwell from his ancestry and boyhood in the Massachusetts hills through study, Civil War service and early work as a lawyer and journalist to his ministry at Grace Baptist Church in Philadelphia. There he built a great institutional church, with its choir, schools, hospital and the college that became Temple University.
