What began as an exchange of letters between a solitary, ailing Rossetti and an ardent young well-wisher became a friendship that brought Hall Caine into the painter’s household. Caine prints much of their correspondence on poetry and art, and records Rossetti’s talk, his work, his illness and his final days by the sea in 1882.
An intimate first-hand portrait of the Pre-Raphaelite poet and painter, invaluable to readers of Victorian art and letters. Download the free EPUB.
