Helen C. Black visited the leading women novelists of late-Victorian Britain in their homes and wrote up what she found: Eliza Lynn Linton in her lofty flat, Mrs. Riddell, Mrs. Walford, Rhoda Broughton, “John Strange Winter”, Mrs. Alexander, Adeline Sergeant and others. Each sketch mixes biography, conversation and a description of the writer’s surroundings.
A lively period source for anyone exploring the many popular women writers of the 1890s. Download the free EPUB.
