Surprised that no biography of Dorothy Wordsworth existed, Lee set out to write one. He follows her from a scattered childhood to the years with William at Racedown and Alfoxden, the friendship with Coleridge, the move to Grasmere and the Lake District, and their tour of Scotland, which included a visit to Walter Scott before he was famous as a novelist.
