This little book from the famous Little Blue Book series gathers verse and prose on women from great writers, arranged by author: Shakespeare’s lovers and shrews, Milton’s Eve, Byron, Scott, Wordsworth, Carlyle, Victor Hugo, Browning and others. The flattering, the sentimental and the condescending sit side by side.
A pocket anthology that doubles as a record of how male writers idealised and patronised women. Download the free EPUB.
