All three volumes of Alexander Grosart’s 1876 collection show the poet in prose. The political writings include his youthful defence of the French Revolution and the tract on the Convention of Cintra; the literary volume brings the prefaces to Lyrical Ballads and the Essays upon Epitaphs; and his description of the Lake District guides the visitor through valleys and mansion grounds.
