Collected after his sudden death, these pieces by a Pennsylvania writer known to readers as Jake Haiden, Faraway Moses and Finnicky Finucane mix essays and short tales: a plea of guilty, the religion of humanity, Joe Bailey’s ride, the other man’s baby, the pathos of humour, the Pine Creek tragedy and the homesick boy. A biographical appreciation by Henry W. Shoemaker opens the book.
