Best known for his Wolfville tales of Arizona, Alfred Henry Lewis here turns to the streets of New York. Many of these sketches are told in Bowery slang by the toughs of the Lower East Side, with stories of Spot and Pincher, Mulberry Mary, Gassy Thompson, Mollie Matches and the hard-up Binks family.
Lively, slangy city sketches from 1900, a period piece of New York street humour. Download the free EPUB.
