At a house party where each guest must tell a story, handsome young Richard Field promises a page of truth with himself as hero and a lovely girl as heroine, to his wife’s evident discomfort. What follows is a comic tale of a stock tip on Petunia Water sixes, a bluffing young broker in Nassau Street and the formidable mother who sets everything in motion.
