He is ten, painfully thin and dressed in a grown man’s cast-off clothes. Bullied in a New York tenement by Barber, the hard man he thinks of as the Wicked Giant, the boy escapes into an imaginary life peopled by four millionaires and the treasures he finds, until a scoutmaster and real new friends begin to take an interest in him.
A tender, unsentimental novel of childhood poverty by the author of The Poor Little Rich Girl. Download the free EPUB.
