Before he became the pioneering Black filmmaker, Micheaux homesteaded in South Dakota and sold his own novels door to door. Here his alter ego Sidney Wyeth travels through the South peddling his book, meets the attractive Mildred Latham, and observes Black communities in the cities of the South with a sharp, sometimes harsh eye.
A rare, self-published 1915 novel by a major figure in African American culture. Download the free EPUB.
