Simeon Phinney, carpenter, well driver, building mover and tender of cranberry bogs, lights his pipe and heads down to the railroad depot, where Captain Sol and his cronies swap stories while the trains come and go. Their village gossip, rival schemes, a baby, a robbery and an early flying machine make up a gentle comedy of Cape Cod life.
Lincoln at his most genial, full of salty Cape Cod talk and kindly humour. Download the free EPUB.
