Mickey O’Halloran, a cheerful, scrappy orphan selling papers in an Indiana city, finds a crippled little girl abandoned after her grandmother’s death and takes her home to his room in Sunrise Alley, determined to keep her out of an institution. His care for Peaches draws in a circle of grown-ups, from the lonely rich to farm folk in the Limberlost country.
Sentimental and big-hearted, a favourite with readers who love Freckles and A Girl of the Limberlost. Download the free EPUB.
