Crusoe begins life as an orphaned pup in a backwoods settlement on the American frontier, is won at a shooting-match, and grows into the giant companion of young Dick Varley. Together with a pair of trapper friends, boy and dog head out across the western prairies among buffalo herds, hostile war parties and Indian villages where Crusoe’s courage is tested again and again.
Victorian boys’ adventure from the author of The Coral Island, with a dog as its true hero; its view of Native Americans is that of 1860. Download the free EPUB.
